The Listening Advantage · Live Cohort
You already know how to listen better. This is where you actually do it.
Six weeks. One small room. Every week you run the HEARD moves on other leaders — and get coached, live, while you do it.
Includes The Listening Advantage course ($497 value) · Already bought the course? Its full price credits toward your seat.
Why this exists
The problem was never the knowledge.
You've read the books. You may have taken the course. You can define active listening, you know you should ask more than you tell, and you could explain all of it convincingly to someone else.
And then it's Thursday at two o'clock, in the meeting that actually matters, and you do the thing you always do. You wait for the gap. You fill it. You solve it. Everyone nods, and nothing in the room changes.
Listening isn't an idea you understand. It's a move you make under pressure — and nobody has ever gotten better at a move by reading about it. You get better by doing it badly in front of someone, hearing what happened, and doing it again next week.
That's what this is. A room where you do the reps.
What it is
Six weeks in the room the course describes.
One live session a week, one HEARD move at a time, with twelve to sixteen leaders from different organizations — and a rep to run in your real job between every session.
Practice, not watch
Roughly forty minutes of every ninety is spent doing it — in pairs and triads, on situations that are actually yours. The teaching is fifteen minutes. The depth lives in the course you watch beforehand.
Coached live
Every session has a hot seat: one person, one real situation, coached by Angela in front of the room. Everyone gets one across the six weeks, and everyone learns from the other thirteen.
Measured, honestly
You take the Listening Audit before you start and again ninety days after you finish. In the Return session you see exactly what moved — and what didn't.
The six weeks
One HEARD move a week.
Hold, Explore, Attune, Reach, Do — then a capstone that turns five separate moves into one way of working.
Presence
We open with an exercise before anything is explained — you'll find out something about how you take turns in conversation that you've never been told. Then your Listening Archetype, the shape of the whole room, and your first rep: the ten-second discipline.
Inquiry
The difference between questions that collect information and questions that open a person up. Three follow-ups without offering an opinion. And eight minutes where the only thing you're allowed to say is a question — reliably the hardest thing anyone does all six weeks.
Signal
The same sentence delivered three ways, and what each one actually meant. Then the left-hand column — what you said in a hard conversation next to what you were really thinking — examined with a partner, not to confess it, but to ask what the gap cost you.
Across difference
Making the other side's case better than they made it. Then the one most people came for: saying the hard thing in a way that can actually be heard. This lands in week four because it needs three weeks of trust to work.
Closing the loop
The last five people who told you something — what did they see happen next? Most people stall on that question, and the stall is the lesson. We build the receipt, we practice the honest no, and then the room goes quiet and everyone sends a real message. The sending is the exercise.
Your listening rhythm
All five moves inside a single two-minute conversation. Your own trade-offs, written down and stress-tested by someone who'll ask what they cost you on a bad Thursday. Then the weekly system you'll actually keep — and your commitment, said out loud to the room.
And then, ninety days later — the Return
Seventy-five minutes, the same room. You re-take the Listening Audit beforehand, and we look at what moved, individually and across the whole cohort. Then the honest question: which rep survived contact with a normal week, and which one quietly stopped. Both are useful. Only one is comfortable. For the January cohort: Tuesday May 18, 2027.
Inside a session
Ninety minutes, every week, the same shape.
The structure never changes, so you stop spending attention on what's about to happen and spend it on the work.
Session 1 runs two hours — it carries the room contract, your archetype, and the shape of the whole cohort, and still gets you a rep before you leave.
What it asks of you
About two and a half hours a week.
Said plainly, because the fastest way to lose someone in week three is to have undersold week one.
90 minutes live
The session itself, same time every week. Session 1 is two hours. Miss one and you get the recording of the teaching — the practice is never recorded.
20 minutes with your partner
You're paired with another participant — deliberately someone who listens nothing like you — for one short call a week, on a four-step protocol we give you. Partners rotate twice.
40 minutes of course + reps
The module for the week, watched before you arrive, plus the rep itself — which happens inside conversations you were already having.
What's included
Everything, in one price.
- Six live Practice Rooms — facilitated by Angela. Ten hours and forty-five minutes of live time in total, including the Return.
- The Return session at ninety days, with your audit delta.
- The Listening Advantage course — full self-paced access, lifetime, yours to keep.
- The Listening Audit, twice — baseline and re-audit.
- Your Premium Report — the archetype deep-dive, included.
- A Listening Partner, assigned and rotating, with the protocol.
- The cohort map — how your whole room listens, revealed in Session 1.
- The workbook, cards and one-pagers, plus a dated commitment card.
- Certificate of completion.
What isn't included, on purpose
No bonus modules. No resource vault. No Slack channel that goes quiet in week three. No lifetime access to every future cohort.
Every one of those makes an offer look bigger and a program harder to deliver. What you're buying is the room, the reps, and the coaching — so that's what we built.
Which one
Course or cohort?
Same framework, same six modules, genuinely different products. Plenty of people should buy the course instead — here's how to tell.
The Listening Advantage
- The question it answers
- How do I learn this?
- What you get
- The framework, on your own time, forever.
- Choose it if
- You finish what you start, you'd rather go at your own pace, or the cohort dates don't work.
- The risk
- You might not finish. Most people don't.
The Listening Advantage — Cohort
- The question it answers
- How do I actually do it?
- What you get
- Reps, witnesses, and coaching in real time — on a deadline.
- Choose it if
- You've bought courses you didn't finish, or there's a specific conversation you've been avoiding for months.
- The risk it removes
- You'll finish, because thirteen people are expecting you.
Already bought the course?
Its full $497 credits toward your cohort seat, any time within twelve months. Buying the course first is never a mistake — it's the pre-work either way.
This is for you if
- You took the audit, recognized yourself, and want it different on a deadline
- You lead people, or you're about to
- There's a conversation you've been avoiding and you know which one
- You've bought self-paced courses you never finished — and you know it
- You'd rather practice with strangers than perform for colleagues
This isn't for you if
- You won't practice on camera with people you don't know — the practice is the product
- You want the content faster; the course is available today at a fifth of the price
- You want to bring your whole team — that's a private cohort, and it's a better fit for you
- You're looking for therapy or conflict mediation. This is a practice room, and we're clear about that in week one
Who you'll be in the room with
Angela Taylor
ICF-certified executive coach and Co-Active-trained. Two-time NCAA champion and team captain at Stanford. More than twenty years as a WNBA executive and broadcaster. Co-founder of The Dignitas Agency.
Angela spent a career in rooms where the job was supposedly to talk — as a captain, an executive, a broadcaster. What actually separated the leaders people followed was quieter than that, and it's what the HEARD framework is built from.
She facilitates every session of this cohort herself.
This is the first time this cohort has run. You'd be shaping it — and you'd be paying founding-cohort pricing because that's a real trade, not a marketing line.
The January cohort is $1,800 rather than $2,400. In return, you'll get a two-question form after every session and I'll actually use the answers. There are no testimonials on this page and no completion statistics, because this cohort hasn't happened yet — and I'd rather tell you that than borrow proof from somewhere else.

Questions
The things people ask.
What if I have to miss a session?
You get the recording of the teaching and the plenary debrief, and a note from your Listening Partner. The breakout practice is never recorded — that's what makes the room honest, and we won't trade it. If you're going to miss more than one, tell us and we'll work it out.
Is the whole thing recorded?
No. Teaching and full-group debrief, yes. Breakout practice, never, under any circumstances. It's the first thing said in Session 1 and it doesn't change.
Do I need to take the course first?
No — it's included, and you'll watch one module a week as pre-work. If you've already bought it, its full price credits toward your seat.
Can I get a refund?
Seats aren't refundable, and there's a reason we can be comfortable saying that: the Listening Audit is free and the first module is free, so you've experienced the material and the voice before you pay. What we do offer is a seat transfer — you can move to the next cohort once, no fee, up to seven days before the first session.
Can my team come with me?
Up to two people from the same organization, yes. Three or more changes what everyone else in the room will say out loud, and candor is the whole product — so at that point it becomes a private cohort, which is a better experience for your team anyway. Let's talk about it.
Will my employer pay for it?
Often, yes — this sits inside most discretionary professional-development budgets and you'll get a proper receipt. Ask early; the useful framing is usually the specific thing you're trying to change, not the program title.
How big is the room?
Twelve to sixteen, capped at sixteen. Below ten we don't run it — the practice needs threes and the cohort map needs the numbers, and we'd rather move you to the next one than run a room that doesn't work.
What happens after the six weeks?
You re-take the audit at ninety days and come back for the Return session to see what moved. After that: nothing you have to buy. If coaching or a room for your team is the right next thing, we'll say so — once.
Be the leader people slow down for.
Six Tuesdays, January 12 to February 16, 2027. Twelve to sixteen leaders. $1,800 for the founding cohort.
