Boise State Executive MBA · Lead with Listening

The Listening
Audit

Every leader believes they listen well. Almost no one has ever measured it. This is your pre-work for the session with Angela Taylor: a diagnostic that shows how you actually listen, not in theory, but in the moments that test it. The tense meeting. The quiet dissent. The truth no one wants to say out loud. In about eight minutes you will see your listening across all five HEARD dimensions, the archetype you lead as, and the one shift that will change the most about how you lead.

The model behind the audit

The HEARD Model

Listening isn't one skill — it's five. Most leaders are strong in one or two and never name the rest. The audit scores all five so you know exactly where to grow.

Presence
Full attention. The discipline of leaving silence unfilled instead of rushing to respond.

Closing the loop. Acting visibly on what you heard, so people know speaking up was worth it.

Angela Taylor

Angela Taylor is an ICF-certified executive coach who has spent her career on what makes teams perform. A two-time NCAA champion and team captain at Stanford, she went on to more than twenty years as a WNBA executive and broadcaster, and now coaches leaders on the skill underneath all of it: listening.

On November 12th she brings that work to your cohort, turning what your audit surfaces into a practical toolkit you can use the same week.

Lead with listening

Start with the audit. It takes about eight minutes, and it is the first step in the work we will do together.

After the workshop, The Listening Advantage course continues this work at your own pace.
